Therapeutically Qualified Optometry

Asha Mahasuria

Owner and Optometrist Asha Mahasuria graduated in 1993 and in 2007 following legislative changes was the first Optometrist to therapeutically qualify to prescribe medications to treat eye disease in Darwin. These changes meant that Eyewise Optometrists can offer therapeutic services to treat eye disease and associated problems at the one place by the one person.

Asha is a member of Optometry Australia and until very recently was serving as a director on the OA committee for QLD/NT.
Leading her team in persuing a professional, personalised service, Asha has been able to help countless patients to see better, offering an unparalleled level of experience and service which has made Eyewise Optometrists a the market leader in Darwin.

Amy Moreland

Optometrist, Amy Moreland, joined our practice in 2024 after working in Darwin and across the Northern Territory for 8 years.

Amy is passionate about providing top quality eye care, including thorough eye health assessments, good patient communication and aiming for best possible visual outcomes. She graduated with Honours and Ocular Therapeutics from the University of New South Wales in 2013 and completed an Advanced Certificate in Children’s Vision through the Australian College of Optometry in 2021. Prior to moving to the NT, she worked in NSW/ACT in clinical Optometry and alongside Ophthalmologists in a pre/post-operative role
